About Craftig

Hi, and thanks for stopping by!

What is Craftig?

Craftig, aka Craft Is Good, is a site where you can go to share all of your favorite craft projects. I enjoy all different types of crafts and always keep my eye out for new projects to try, but when I realized that there were so many projects, sites, and blogs that I may never find simply because I don’t have a way of knowing about them, I came up with the idea of a social bookmarking site for crafters.

Craftig is a place where anyone interested in crafts can share links to new projects, ideas, patterns, and freebies that they may come across in their web travels. It’s also a great place to help get the word out about the things that you’re creating at your website or blog. Our users are truly what makes the site go ’round, because you each have your own list of favorites to share with us. You can share stories and projects that everyone’s buzzing about, and you can also share new stories and projects with the community and help create the buzz!

So, who’s behind Craftig?

Besides all of the wonderful contributors and readers, it’s me, Kristen Magee. I’ve been doing arts and crafts since I first discovered fingerpaints and made a mess of my grandmother’s kitchen at around age 4. Since then, I’ve done a little bit of everything, from potpourri-filled wedding favors to ornaments and wreaths, paper crafts, and I’ve become pretty good with a hot glue gun.

In 2004, I took my crafting to the next level and made a business out of my candlemaking with a little online candle shop called Beccalights. I closed up shop in 2008, and since then I’ve been working on mastering the art of screen printing, as well as sharing some of my craft ideas (and recipes) over at my blog, Domestifluff. I also talk all things paper over at Paper Crave.

In addition to being craft obsessed, I’m also a freelance graphic designer and programmer who specializes in Wordpress template design, logo and icon design, mySQL, and PHP.
