Getting Started at Craftig

Welcome to Craftig! Craft is good, and we’re excited for you to start sharing links to all of the crafts that you discover. So, where to start?

1. In order to start posting stories, you’ll need to register for a free Craftig user account. Just plug in your username, your email, a password, and you’re ready to start posting!

2. After you’ve registered, you can submit new stories right away. Copy and past the URL or type it in, and you’ll be taken to a page where you can customize the story title, add a short description, and select a category and tags for the story so other readers can easily find it. From there, you can preview the story and submit it.

You can find stories by clicking on one of the categories listed in the right column or by using the search form included on every page of the main site.

3. Craftig also has a nifty bookmarklet that you can find in your user profile area. This will allow you to submit stories from anywhere. Pretty neat, huh?

4. In addition to submitting stories, you can use the icons and links shown at the bottom of every story to comment on submitted stories, save stories to your own personal bookmark collection (very handy), and share the stories with everyone you know. You can also become friends with other crafty users and exchange private messages with them through the site. You may have to login to see specific links.

5. If you catch a spammy story, or if you just plain don’t like a story (we hope there won’t be much of this), then you can “Cut” the story or, in other words, vote it down.
